- בַּעֲלָהf. (preced.) mistress, owner Gen. R. s. 52 (rendering בְּעֻלַת, Gen. 20:3, as though בּעֲלַת) מרתא דבעלה her husbands mistress.Compounds are mostly self-evident, e. g. בעלת הגט the woman receiving the letter of divorce;ב׳ איברים an animal of large build. Ber.32a; v. בַּעַל.
